Lead Guitarist and Keyboardist needed ASAP for small contemporary Christian praise team.

We are a small contemporary church located at the edge of Memphis close to Bartlett. We currently have a drummer, bass and rhythym guitar and a few vocalists but we are in need of a keyboardist and a lead guitarist and hopefully someone who could run our board. We rehearse on Thursday nights at 7:00pm and again on Sunday mornings at 8:30 and the service is from 10:30 to 11:30.

We do a lot of great tunes but we really need to expand as much as possible. Membership with our church is not required but this gig is of course a labor of love. If interested or if you know of anyone who would be interested please have them contact me ASAP at 289-1497.

Thanks...Ted

CALLING ALL Exp. Christian Musicians & Singers

Do you feel it is your purpose to lead people into God's presence through music? Would you like to be apart of something as a musician and singer that brings fullfillment and purpose in your life?
Then you've come to the right place! We are looking for experienced and gifted musicians and singers with a sold out heart for Jesus Christ to lead people in worship on Sunday and other events.

We believe that in the months ahead a "worship revolution" will rise up out of the ashes of traditionalism, legalism, and politics in the gift of music that will bring change in the lives of those who hear.
That's why we will call this band "Worship Revolution Band and Ministry Team".
It is our desire to not only worship in the walls of the church but outside the walls of the church to be a witness of how God can save someone's life. Give us a chance and we will share with you our vision.

Abundant Life is a new church in Desoto County, Mississippi. It is our desire to be a contemporary, progressive and relevant church that ministers to all people no matter what their background may be or where they are in their relationship to God. Prayerfully consider Joining us in our mission.

Our musical worship influences will be Hillsong, Planetshakers, Chris Tomlin, Jeremy Camp, Big Daddy Weave, Kutless, including new original material written by our worship leader. There will also be opportunities to play out. Again, this will be a progressive, contemporary effort with high energy worship. For a taste of what we are trying to accomplish with worship music, you can go to youtube.com and type in Planetshakers.

We are currently needing a drummer, guitarist, bass player, acoustic guitarist, backing or secondary keyboardist, and worship singers who know 4 part harmony and can sing in key.

To know more about our vision and who we are please go to www.myabundantlifechurch.org or call 901-282-7046. Check out our ministy team, and other pages on our site.

God bless you

Drummer w/PA & Rehearsal Studio looking to form or join "Supergroup"

posted: November 1, 2009, 08:21 AM

Greetings.

I am a very experienced and capable drummer that can play nearly anything I want or need to. I do enjoy the technical aspects. I have a top of the line kit. What I most enjoy, however, is making music and fitting beats and lyrics to songs and vice versa. I'm looking to form or join a "supergroup" of talented musicians for an original project that wants to go all the way to the top. Seriously. Laughing yet? I'm not. Okay, now I am... but seriously, I want to take a shot at the big prize and I'm willing to do what it takes to get there. I have a great rehearsal studio, and a 4000 watt pro Carvin PA with all the goodies, subs, and three sets of mains....so far... I've got performance mics, recording mics, stands, everything. I also have two digital recording set-ups for making that first demo CD.

My musical philosophy. There is a lot of great music out there. People even say "everything has been done." Yet, every year more music is made, and once in a while something changes enough to be called "new." I want to do that. I think it takes musicianship, dedication, creativity, determination, all those things. But it also takes songwriting. To me, this is the key, so that's what I'm looking for: Talented people who can also write. Personally, I write lyrics and rhythms and phrasings, but need help on melodies, etc. I also don't pretend that my writing is better than someone else's. Whatever works best, works best.

My personal philosophy. I have no time or endurance for rednecks, bigots, racists, conservatives, bible-thumpers, mean people, or control freaks. Geeks are okay. College music students welcome. I really don't care if you are an hermaphrodite smurf (that might be a plus...) if you've got the chops, the creativity, etc., bring it on! But you gotta be cool, patient, and thoughtful and keep your eyes on the prize because bands can be stressful, and making original music even more so. The reward is well worth it, though.

You have to feel this deeply, or it simply won't work. You've got to let it own you, and then you have to own it. Nothing does that like music, which probably precedes actual language in ancient history. This is not something you can pretend. You either go deep or you stay home.

One thing I insist on- almost everyone needs to be able to sing great backup. I want a very vocal-capable group- studio AND live. Lead vocalists need to have more than just a voice. You are one of the keys of any band, and you've got to have style, presence, feel, even looks. You have to sound gritty sometime, dark sometimes, light and airy, or screaming in their face- whatever the music calls for. Please be capable, know some theory, and have a great set of pipes that will leave an audience talking about you on the way home.

If you are still with me, contact me back and we'll see what happens. Thanks for reading!
