Job Dimensions

This job exists to manage a broad spectrum of mechanical work, be highly skilled in interpreting diagrams/schematics, utilizing diagnostic equipment, troubleshooting of all mechanical equipment, proper isolation of equipment, and knowledgeable in virtually all mechanical applications and intricacies specific to the Memphis site


Key job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

: Follow All Plant Safety Procedures and Policies (LOTO, SWP, etc.)
: Use of Proper PPE for Job and Area (Respirators, Harnesses, Chemical Suits)
: Conformance to Plant Permits and Certifications (ISO, cGMP, Title V, FDA, RCRA, SWWP)
: Understand, execute, and follow all procedures in the execution of maintenance activities
: Documenting Maintenance work for Governmental and Permit Compliance
: Logs time and able to describe work done in work order system
: Use of Database Software to Acquire parts needed for Job
: Enter notifications into SAP
: Job Scoping and Planning
: Test all equipment worked on for proper operation prior to turnover to production
: Provides feedback to supervision pertaining to any abnormal equipment observations
: Be on Call and Work overtime as need to keep plant up and running
: Work at elevated heights (platforms, scaffolding, ladders and grating)
: Use of Power Equipment (power hand tools, grinders, drill press, saws, press)
: Fabrication (Reading Prints, Developing Isometric Drawings, Follow engineering standards)
: Reading and understanding equipment drawings, manuals, and documentation
: Operation of Lifting Equipment (Fork Truck, Boom Lift, Scissor Lift, etc.)
: Must be able to communicate with outside vendors or contractors to help on capital project work
: Inspect and repair all buildings and grounds including underground services
: Repair, install, modify and service all mechanical equipment
: Effectively troubleshoot mechanical problems in the field
: Maintains a clean work environment
: Pipefitting (Job Layout, Follow Piping Codes, Proper Material Selection, Pressure Testing, Fabrication, Threading, Bending, Installation)
: Rigging (Flagging, Proper Sling Selection/Use, Developing Lifting Plans)
: Rotating Equipment (Couplings, Alignment, Oil Change, Belts, Bearings, Conveyor Systems )
: Pumps (Rebuilding, Change Oil, Replace Seals, Installation)
: Precision Alignment using laser equipment
: Agitators (Change Oil, Troubleshoot, Installation)
: General mechanical Routines and Troubleshooting (Use of senses (Visual, Audible, etc.) for deducing problems)
: Obtain Welding Certifications for Welding Stainless and Carbon Steel Piping
: Relief Device Inspection and replacement
: Refrigeration System Troubleshooting
: Executes all tasks necessary as assigned to support plant operations, such tasks may be of an unskilled or skilled nature
: Other duties as assigned

: Ensures compliance of regulatory and plant safety and environmental requirements with special emphasis on Process Safety Management (PSM)
: Participates fully in plant safety initiatives and programs including Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) program.
: Ensure that all incidents are reported.
: Ensure that all HES training, standards, policies and procedures are followed.
: Demonstrates commitment to HES through high visibility and actions.

This is a plant:based position. Maintenance work will occasionally require confined space entries, working at elevated heights, using respirators, working outdoors, etc.
