Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellow position in the laboratory of Dr. Megan K. Mulligan, Ph.D. in the Department of Genetics, Genomics and Informatics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in the vibrant city of Memphis ( Highly qualified candidates can choose from an array of diverse research topics related to the genetics of GABA-A receptor signaling, behavior, neurobiology, stress response, alcohol and cannabinoid response, or addiction. This position offers many opportunities to interact and collaborate with renowned scientists around the globe and learn or expand existing skills in genomics, bioinformatics, systems genetics, single cell transcriptomics, proteomics, neurobehavior and addiction research. The position is for a minimum one-year appointment with the option to renew. Qualifications Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in genetics, molecular biology, neuroscience, bioinformatics, or related fields and a strong background in the biomedical sciences as indicated by first author publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentation of research at scientific meetings and conferences. Experience and interest in one or more of the following areas are required: design and implementation of rodent behavioral assays; rodent gene manipulation strategies; RNA/DNA/protein extraction; analysis of microarray, proteomics, RNA-seq and/or DNA-seq data sets; statistical analysis and modeling of large and complex (many different individuals and multiple time points and tissues) data sets; data analysis in R or other statistical software, mapping in rodent genetic populations; electrophysiology. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required and qualified applicants will be expected to immediately participate in manuscript and grant preparation.
