Job Description The Plant Controller’s main responsibilities include preparing month-end closings, financial forecasts; providing financial advice through financial data analysis to the various departments of Brother Industries (USA) Ltd. (“Brother”); meeting corporate reporting requirements; managing, training and evaluating accounting personnel; ensuring the accuracy of physical inventory; controlling the flow of raw materials and other assets used in the manufacturing process; participate in internal, external and SOX audits. The ideal candidate will have a combination of public and private accounting experience; accounting experience within a manufacturing environment; supervisory experience; strong accounting, analytical and communication skills; strong computer skills; be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Key Duties and Responsibilities Prepare financial statements by planning and directing accounting activities, and responsible for adequate internal control for financial reporting in accordance with best practices, regulations and practices. Ensure adherence to GAAP and/or IFRS, and keep current with changes in Accounting guidance and its effect on Brother. Responsible for managing the monthly close process, reviewing journal entries, reconciliations and account analyses. Ongoing analysis of accounting operations to identify and drive efficiencies and process improvements; ensure documentation of all accounting processes and procedures. Prepare product profitability analysis and participate in development of operating enhancements. Ensure product costing accurately reflects production operations, analyses and report on significant year over year standard cost changes Support President in leading organization toward achievement of agreed targets, including financial performance by supplying regular updates of key corporate metrics (financial analysis and future financial performance). Business partner and key member of site management team providing business support and strategic direction Communicate the weekly and monthly site results, including performance comparisons to plan and forecast to aid in the effective cost management of the plan. and projects as assigned by management. Responsible for preparation and monitoring of the annual budget and midterm financial plan. Support internal, external and SOX audits, by working with the audit teams and providing information and analyses as needed. Other tasks and projects as assigned by management.
