n experienced healthcare transactions attorney with experience in compliance with federal and state rules, regulations, policies and procedures including Stark, the Anti:Kickback Statute, and other healthcare regulatory issues.

The Assistant General Counsel is responsible for assisting the Senior Vice President and General Counsel to plan, implement, direct, coordinate and control overall legal, risk management, insurance, claims and safety policy activities and programs for MH, system:wide, to avoid or minimize corporate risk exposure. Activities include contract negotiation and preparation, long:term strategic planning, MH organizational structure, risk management, real estate transactions, development of operating philosophy and management policies, business planning, acquisitions and medical staff issues. Thorough knowledge of legal principles, methods and procedures in healthcare as would be acquired through completion of a JD degree and 7 years related experience.

An experienced healthcare transactions attorney with experience in compliance with federal and state rules, regulations, policies and procedures including Stark, the Anti:Kickback Statute, and other healthcare regulatory issues. 13;

:Ability to understand and prepare complex written materials such as major contracts, business plans and policies and procedures.
:Ability to communicate verbally and non:verbally with all levels of Associates, executives, management, physicians and Board of Directors.
:Ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups of people toward the accomplishment of work and organizational goals.
:Advanced skill in negotiating and conflict resolution with and between individuals and groups of people, including Associates, management and physicians.
:Ability to plan and schedule tasks and projects and to maintain control of own and others workflow.
:Skill in developing and implementing long:range plans and programs.
:Ability to work without close supervision or professional guidance and to exercise independent judgment. 13;
Key Job Responsibilities 13;
:Assists General Counsel to plan, organize, implement and control Legal and Risk Management activities and operations for MH and subsidiaries / affiliates.
:Assists, advises and consults with MH and subsidiary management on legal aspects of health care delivery, organization and corporate structure.
:Directs projects, research and activities of staff attorneys, paralegals and legal secretary.
:Develops and monitors annual capital and operating expense budgets and human resource plan totaling over 700,000.
:Assists and advises MH and subsidiary management and Associates on medicolegal issues involving patient care, medical records requests, consent issues, medical staff disciplinary actions and by:laws.
:Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for self:development and enhancement of professional competency. 13;

:The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
:Must have good balance and coordination.
:The physical requirements of this position are: light work : exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
:The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
